Traditional Korean House Gimhae

Traditional Korean House Gimhae opened for experiencing our own traditional Korean house life and learning wisdom of our ancestors. Located at the historic sites of Gaya Culture within Gimhae of the historic & traditional district, Traditional Korean House Gimhae is the one of a large scale to cultivate traditional culture & history through our own traditional Korean house life.
At first, it was planned to build 99-room house which the nobility lived. However, the breakwater remains of Gaya Age were discovered during construction, so the building was limited as 85-rooms. Traditional Korean House Gimhae is composed of traditional Korean houses of overall 7 buildings including the main building, outbuilding, another building, shrine, servants' quarters, annex and the barn, so you can have wide experience on our own residing culture. The style of roof is eight-roofed. There's a door of cross-arranged between the large porch, main building & detached house. Furthermore, the trifling articles which the nobility of Joseon Age used are installed in the room as it is.

Also, in addition to traditional Korean house experiencing, the various subsidiary facilities including the traditional Korean restaurant, seminar room and teahouse with the exhibitions of our own garden, jar stand, storeroom & A-frame increase the effects of experiencing. And we're preparing the experiences of Korean paper craft, Natural dyeing, Pottery craft, Rice cake making, the traditional Hanbok wearing and Kimchi making for the foreigners. We're making efforts for more experiencing of the tourists & visitors and sponsoring other good performances & experience shows.

Hanok Experience Center is operated with the program of board & lodging after the applications of the internal & external tourists to desire for the traditional Korean house life experiencing. Especially, the traditional gardens are everywhere of Experience Center, and you can see and enjoy Korean traditional culture through the various programs. So it's expected to be the limelight as a place for the workshop & training as well as for family lodging experiencing.

Traditional Korean House Gimhae plans to designate neighboring regions as a recommendation district for traditional Korean houses and promote them as traditional Korean house complex through support of a subsidy.

The Hanok Experience Center region is connected with the much tourist attractions having traces of Gaya culture like King Suro's royal tomb, Sureungwon, Daesungdong Old Tomb Museum & the streets of Gaya, so it's expected to be another tourist attraction.
