Gaya Kingdom was a powerful ancient kingdom with advanced ironware culture. Gimhae was the site of Garak Kingdom and many historical sites and relics including Gujibong Peak, Tomb of King Suro, and the tombs in Daeseong-dong are located in Gimhae. And efforts to reestablish the history of Gaya are underway. The Gaya Street is a space for cultural activities based on the tradition of Gaya culture. It is also utilized as a space for the education of the public and national cultural tourism resource as well.
Space of History(Cultural Information Plaza, Exhibition Hall, People's Forest, and Meeting Place) Stones symbolizing 9 gans(legendary tribal chiefs who helped King Suro to the throne)
Clock Tower
The middle part of the ancient style clock tower opens up at every hour between 10 AM and 8 PM and General Hwangse and Maiden Yeoui dance with joy for their reunion to the beautiful Gayageum music.
Rhyton Shaped Fountain
A 5m high fountain was built in the shape of ox horn rhyton. It symbolizes the vigorous and strong spirit of Gaya people.
People's Forest (To be constructed)
Walking paths through pine trees, and convenience facilities made of natural stones will be constructed for people to feel the vestige of Gaya people.
Wall of History
On a wall, major relics of Gaya culture, such as swords with round pommel, armors and helmets, and Gaya earthenware will be illustrated to demonstrate the advanced culture of Gaya and its status as a kingdom(To be constructed)
Wall of Myth
The legend of King Suro recorded in Samgukyusa is expressed in relief on granite. Its dynamic expression makes the visitors experience the history and literature contained in the birth myth of Gaya, and progressive spirit and idealism of Gaya people.
