Since 2002, the 'Lotus Pond Spring Festival' has been held during the blossoming season of cherry blossom in April of each year. The festival takes place at the Lotus Pond Park, which is the most popular park in our city. The festival allows the participants to enjoy the cozy atmosphere of the park which has forests leading to a lake, performance and exhibition which chimes with the mood of spring, various reenactments, and participating events.

The spring festival is sponsored by our city and is organized by the Gimhae Branch of the Federation of the Artistic and Cultural Organizations of Korea. The festival offers a variety of programs which the residents can enjoy freely and comfortably. The programs include music, dance, and drama performances put on primarily by performing arts groups and college societies, exhibitions of paintings, poems, photographs, and wild orchids, and various participant oriented events centered around a range of industrial artistic works.

Unlike many festivals held in our city, the Lotus Pond Spring Festival has established itself as a celebration where residents can participate at their own leisure, because it is centered on programs that allow the participation of visitors.
