Bunsan Fortress

It was built by Busa(head of Bu), Park Wi in the 3rd year of King U in the Goryeo Period(1377) to deter the Japanese pirates, then it was destroyed during the Japanese Invasion, and rebuilt by Busa, Jeong Hyeonseok in the 8th year of King Gojong(1871). However, the foundation of the fortress used the Temoe type, which was the main stream mountain fortress in the Three Kingdoms Period. From this, it is estimated that the initial construction date was in the Gaya Period. The total length of the fortress is 929m and average width is 8m. Currently, the sites of south and north gates, the secret gate on the west, and the well site remain. And the signal fire station was restored in 1997. A fortress repair project started in 2000 and 210m has been restored until now. It will be completed by 2010.
