Sanhaejeong

This is the place where Nammyeong, Jo Sik, a famous Confucius scholar in the Joseon Period, taught for 30 years. Its construction started in the 21st year of King Seonjo(1588) by Yang Sajun, who was the head of Gimhae-bu, due to the petition of local people. The construction stopped during the Japanese Invasion. It was completed in the first year of King Gwanghaegun(1609) by An Hui and Heo Gyeongyun and called Sinsanseowon. It was repaired in the 23rd year of King Sunjo(1823) by Song Yunjeung and others. It was destroyed by the order of Daewongun, then it was restored after the independence. The current building is a wooden building with the width of 5 kan and the length of 2 kan and Paljak style roof. It has lecture halls but no shrine.
