Vision 2 Gimhae, A City of Creative Design!

  • Create a distinctive landscape design by neo-designing Gaya's history and culture
  • Create a superior design city that will continue to illuminate the world for centuries to come
  • Provide academic training to create a design city to support promising talents.
  • Construct a creative design city that will be accomplished by the people of Gimhae themselves
2008~2010 Build foundation for a city of creative design
2011~2015 Develop/expand as a city of creative design
2016~2020 Mature as a city of creative design

[2020 Creative Design City, Gimhae] Draft a master plan -> 2009.10.

  • Key Details: Recommend a guideline for buildings, public facilities, parks, and urban space
  • Planning: Creative Design City T/F + Participation of professional organizations

Declaration for Creative Design City -> Latter 2009

  • Propose a vision for a city of distinctive creative design that retains features unique to Gimhae
  • Consolidate and utilize network with relevant organizations and residents and clarify their role
  • Key Details: With Gaya history, culture, and design as key words, issue a declaration for a creative design city, make available a video for the design city, and organize exhibition for the creative city

Create the necessary system and operational structure -> Latter part of 2009

  • Enact ordinances and operational rules for the creative design city
  • Commence design certification -> Grant certificate insignia for outstanding design and provide incentives
  • Create a system of design assessment -> Assess design when reviewing architectural design

Register with the UNESCO creative city network -> 2010

  • Informal discussion of self governing organizations involved in creative city (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism)
  • International seminar and exhibitions for creative city (joint sponsorship with the Ministry of Cultures, Sports and Tourism)
    • Invite leading figures for creative city
