By implementing the 3 key policies in a way that will make substantial impact for developing as a city in order to emerge as a model of excellence in the next 50 to 100 years, we promise to inform the global community of the outstanding culture of Gaya and consolidate the city's competitiveness.

Vision 3 Gimhae, A City of Environment Friendly Energy!

  • Develop environment friendly energy for the city in the next 10 years to match the standard of developed countries
    • 15% savings of total energy consumption, 15% supply of new renewable energy, 2,000 solar powered residential units
Preparatory Stage (2008~2010) Policy development, secure foundation for implementation / expand trial project for public and civilian sector
Expansion Stage (2011~2016) Develop an industrial complex for new renewable energy and maintain research facility / diagnostication of energy / supply environment friendly energy / full implementation of
Sustained Implementation Stage (after 2016) Medium term assessment of operation and continued feedback / complete eco friendly energy system

Build foundation for implementing eco friendly energy policy

  • Create an eco friendly T/F and formulate a comprehensive, long term plan: September 2008 ~ December 2008
  • Create a new department exclusively for eco friendly energy and expand the authority of the energy management committee
  • Enact and revise ordinances on eco friendly energy: Support energy related policy

Conversion to low carbon economic structure

  • Key Projects: 22 projects in 4 areas including public, industrial, building, and transportation sectors
    • Establish objective to save energy by 15% and implement the necessary programs
    • Introduce a program of certification for building eco friendliness and promote operation to bring energy efficiency to existing facilities

Expand supply of new . renewable energy

  • Key Projects: 19 projects in 4 areas including public, industrial, building, and transportation sectors
    • Create a trial complex at the Juchon Industrial Complex by obligating the installation of solar power facility
    • Expand the project to supply and develop solar powered homes
    • Manufacture of thin-film solar module and attract manufacturers of hydrogen fuel cell

Prepare response to climate change due to reduction of greenhouse gas

  • Establish and implement objective of 20% reduction of greenhouse gas
  • Support the construction of greenhouse gas inventory of businesses and registration of CDM program
  • Promote green urban program and reforestation of mountains
